Description
বাইশে আগস্ট – একটি বেলঘরিয়া অভিমুখ প্রযোজনা
The world today is standing on a heap of fire; a quicksand of molten lava that threatens to consume its very conscience, leaving behind nothing but a barren carcass of hollowed, listless race. Fascism, an ‘ism’ made by man, to destroy man. Humanity is revolting, desperately fighting against this vulgar attempt at trampling liberty and freedom. We join in the fight with our play, ‘ 22se August ’. Silence is not always golden.
A whisper, a commotion, a revolution is needed at times. And now is the time. We want to stand beside our brothers and sisters across the world and throw questions at the fascist rulers. Not through sticks and stones, not through guns. Through docility, through humility. Just as the moon silently bears on us through a black sky, so do we want to touch upon the conscience of man through the play. In 1927, two men were silenced at the electric chair. Their crime? They were Radicals. Before being electrocuted, they placed some questions before the rulers.
Even today, the questions remain unanswered. We may find the answers, and we will if all of us show the courage to ask them. Together. This is our hope. This is ‘22se August’.
